(Shaulis) 09/10/05 Daily American Thelma I. (Shaulis) Griffith, 89, Cambridge Ave., Davidsville, formerly of Hollsopple RD, died Sept. 9, 2005, at Laurel View Village. Born May 5, 1916, in Conemaugh Township, daughter of E.M. and Nellie (Ott) Shaulis. Preceded in death by parents and grandparents. Survived by husband of 67 years, Kenneth G.; sons, Dale K., married to Linda Johnson, Pittsburgh; and Marlin C., married to Cathy Stutzman, Somerset; grandchildren, Michael Griffith, and wife Pam; Lori Kurtzhal, and husband Dan; and Dawn Davis, and husband Greg; and step grandchildren, Beth Houpt, and husband Dave; Matt Bender, and wife Kim; and Jeremy Bender, and wife Jessica. Also survived by four great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. Sister of Evelyn Ritchey-Como, married to Roy Como, Martinsburg. She was a 1934 graduate of the former Boswell High School. Member of Jennerstown United Methodist Church and the Seventh Society of Farm Women. Life member of Somerset Historical Society and Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She had been active in the quilters at the former Hollsopple Senior Citizens Center. Past secretary for the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Retired head cook at the former J.B.J. High School cafeteria. Longtime member of the former St. James Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and choir member. She was a resident of Laurel View Village for the past 10 years and observed her 67th wedding anniversary Aug. 6, 2005. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Main Street, Boswell, where a service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev.
