He was born May 13, 1918, in Gray, a son of David J. and Ida Deneen Griffith. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeanetta Pletcher; and his second wife, Alma Miller. He is survived by one son Earl W. of Claysburg; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Sapp of Quitman, Georgia; also three grandchildren; one brother, Webb Griffith of Boswell; one sister, Mrs. Margaret Ramp of Somerset. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Somerset VFW and the Rowan American Legion of Altoona. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. Interment, Husband Cemetery. Daily American, December 6, 1977 [G1052]
