Davis Grimm, 81, of 704 Orchard Ave., Berlin, died May 2, 1978, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born May 17, 1896 at Springfield Township he was the son of the late David H. and Sarah Margaret (Eicher) Grimm. He was a resident of Somerset County for 30 years and was a former employee of the West Penn Railway System and also worked as a coal miner. Veteran of World War I and a member of the Milton L. Bishop Post 301, American Legion. He is survived by one son, William Grimm of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., two daughters, Kathryn and Mrs. William (Evelyn) Mitchell, both of Connellsville; also five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edgar of Somerset and Don of Connellsville; four sisters, Mrs. Bessie Hall of Dunbar; Mrs. Carrie Hall of Normalville; Mrs. Hazel Eicher of Mount Pleasant; and Mrs. Grace Hunter of Media. He was preceded in death by two brothers George W. and Eugene; sister, Mrs. Nellie Adams. Friends were received at the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., where services were held with the Rev. William Mock officiating. Interment, Normalville Cemetery. Military rites were conducted at the graveside. The Republic, May 11, 1978 [G1062]
