Grine, 69, Shanksville, died Dec. 18, 1988, at Somerset Community Hospital. Born July 6, 1919, in Larimer Township, son of William and Lillian (Uphold) Grine. Preceded in death by parents, his wife, the former Margaret Bentz, son, Paul, great-grandson, brother and five sisters. Survived by these children: Bruce, married to the former Connie Pugh, Friedens RD 2; Mrs. Paul (Charolette) Marker, Boswell RD 2; Mrs. David (Nancy) Tipton, Somerset RD 7; and Richard, married to the former Durinda Myers, Stoystown RD 3; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Brother of: Mrs. Forrest (Estella) Lohr, and Mrs. Mary Lohr, both of Kantner; Mrs. John (Ruth) Weyant, New Paris; Mrs. Ada Lehman, Pinellas Park, Fla.; and Mrs. Richard (Ethel) Lehman, Boswell RD 1. He was a former coal miner and retired janitor at Shanksville-Stonycreek School. Member of Shanksville Volunteer Fire Company, Forbes Senior Citizens, Mountain Field and Stream Hunting Club and Shanksville Sportsmen. He formerly played guitar and sang with Shorty and the Buckaroos and also with the High Notes. Family received friends Monday evening and will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, STOYSTOWN, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Gerald E. Deffenbaugh officiating. Interment, Lambertsville Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Assoc. Daily American, December 20, 1988 [G1072]
