William Grof, in Harrisonburg, Va. She was born in Roxbury, Pa., Oct. 14, 1870, the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Speicher) Hady. Most of her girlhood days were spent in Meyersdale where her father had a store and she spent a number of years as a teacher in the Meyersdale public schools. She was the wife of the late Alexander B. Grof, a former postmaster of Somerset and a teacher for many years in different schools of the county. Mr. Grof's death occurred Dec. 21, 1924 in Somerset where they resided most of their married lives. Mrs. Grof is survived by two sons, the Rev. William Hady Grof of Harrisonburg, and Paul E. Grof, an employee of the Highway Department; two grandchildren, William Grof Jr., and Samuel H. Grof and one granddaughter, Shirley Kay Grof. She was preceded in death by one sister and four brothers, and she was the last surviving member of her family. A number of nieces and nephews, the children of the late William Hady, reside in and around Meyersdale, as do her sister-in-law, Miss Anna Grof and her brother-in-law, William B. Grof. She visited in Meyersdale early this past summer. She was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed Church of Somerset. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 o'clock at the Konhaus Funeral Home in Meyersdale, with her pastor, the Rev. George L. Roth, Somerset, officiating. Burial was in the Meyersdale Union Cemetery. Pall bearers were Michael Hady Sr., George Hady, Fred Grof Sr., Robert Peck, Michael Hady Jr., and John Kerrigan. Meyersdale Republican, November 10, 1949
