   James C. Groff, 71, Confluence, died Oct. 15, 2007, in Henry Clay Villa, Markleysburg.
  Born June 7, 1936, in Confluence, a son of Charles A. Groff and Gladys (Miller) Wilt.
  Preceded in death by parents; brother, Richard; and sister, Virginia Canova. Survived by
  wife, Julia S. (Jeffer) Groff; and children, Jodene Beal and husband, George, Confluence;
  James Todd Groff and wife, Mary, Duquesne; Kevin Cahill, Johnstown; Debbie Vargay and
  husband, Bob, Palmer, Alaska; and John Michael Haney, Markleysburg; two grandchildren,
  Brittany Beal and Tessie Cahill; sisters, Ida Secaskey, Somerset; Janet Groff,
  Confluence; Sandra Whitehead, Belle Vernon; and brothers, Rick Miller, Greensburg; and
  Terry Wilt, Confluence. There will be no viewing. Family will receive friends from 1
  until 2 p.m. the hour of service Friday at Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence, Friday. The
  Rev. Ronald Schaeffer officiating.
