Groff, 81, of Confluence RD 3, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1995, at home. She was born Dec. 6, 1913, in Jarrow-on-Tyne, England, a daughter of the late Charles Y. and Hannah (Parker) Walton. She was preceded in death by her husband, George L., and a brother, Andrew. Surviving are two sons, George L. Jr. "Skip" of Somerset; and Charles E. Sr. "Chuck" of Confluence; five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. Also a brother, John Walton of Findleyville, and three half sisters: Margaretta Barton of Lowbar; Eleanor Krol of Eighty Four and Shirley Krol of Elizabeth. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Confluence and belonged to the Confluence Women's Civic Club, the Ursina American Legion auxiliary and the Confluence Volunteer Fire Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. John Palko and the Rev. William Triebe officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
