LYDIA GROFF

  Mrs. Lydia Groff, 89, died Monday morning, June 3, at 7:45 o'clock in Allegany 
Hospital, Cumberland, to which she was admitted on Sunday, June 2.  She had been 
residing with her niece, Mrs. Arthur Pabler, 310 Harrison Street, Cumberland, 
and had been ill for two weeks.
  A daughter of Solomon and Tena (Keim) Engle, Mrs. Groff was born in Greenville 
Township, Somerset County, Pa.  Her husband, Thadeus Groff, preceded her in 
death.  Surviving are one brother, William Engle, RFD, Berlin, and one sister, 
Mrs. Matilda Bauman, Liscomb, Iowa. 
  Mrs. Groff was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed Church of Berlin.  
  Her body was taken to Berlin where funeral services were held in the Johnson 
Funeral Home, Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Herman C. Snyder officiating.  Interment 
in the Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
