GEORGE W. GROFT

  George W. Groft, 63, died Monday afternoon at his home in Allegheny Twp.  He 
was a son of Edward and Jane (Brant) Groft and was born in Somerset County on 
Sept. 16, 1879.  His wife, Mrs. Mary E. (Sweitzer) Groft, is dead.  Surviving 
are a daughter, Miss Myrtle Groft, at home, and these brothers and sisters: 
Ralph and Simon W., both of Berlin R.D. 5; Mrs. Wilson Martz, Glencoe R.D.; Mrs. 
Robert Long, Central City, and Mrs. Jennings Shaffer, Berlin R.D. 5.
  Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Johnson 
Funeral Home, Berlin, by Rev. J. Keller Brantley, pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran 
Church.  Interment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Berlin.
