Grosik, 55, Palestine Road, South Fork, went to heaven to be a shining star and guardian angel on July 24, 2005. "I was one of a kind, a miracle and a fighter." Born April 29, 1950, in Colver, daughter of John and Sophie (Makosy) Hajzus. Preceded in death by mother. Survived by father, Colver. Wife of 33 years, a life long best friend and beautiful miracle from God to husband, Thomas D. Grosik, South Fork. Loving mother and comforting best friend to children: Thomas D. Jr., married to Laurie (Coughenour), Jerome; Ann Grosik, St. Michael; Theresa, wife of Shannon Fisher, Cairnbrook; James Grosik, at home; Carol and her fiancˇ, Sam Cobaugh, South Fork and Diana Grosik, at home. Loving, caring, one-of-a-kind "Gram" will be deeply missed by her seven little angels: Austin, Ryan, Deven, Jacob, Sammy, Seth and Nicholas. Brothers and sisters are, John (Jerri) Hajzus Jr., Colver; Dave (Dwina) Hajzus, Coudersport; Tom (Patty) Hajzus, McMurray; Doris (Dave) Vasses, Colver; Paula (Dave) Steinberg, Colver and Paul (Katrina) Hajzus, Monrovia, Md; brother-in-law, John (Barb) Grosik, Mineral Point; special sister-in-law, Mary Ann Grosik, Portage and many nieces and nephews. Her family was very special to her and she loved being a grandmother. Karen was a former EMT with the Beaverdale Ambulance and was the "TV Lady" at Conemaugh Hospital. She was a member of the Sunday Night Mixers Bowling League, an avid bingo player and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and the ocean. Gram will always be remembered as fun patient, kind, good-spirited, a faithful follower of the Lord and a true example of His miraculous ways. She enjoyed cooking, word searches, crocheting and reading her Bible. She will always be known as a Bingo Buddy, Scrabble Queen, Steelers fan, and "Dr. Mom. " She will be greatly missed by family, friends, special hospice caregivers and faithful pet and companion, Snickers. "Gram, we love you to the moon and back." Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork where vigil for the deceased will be held Tuesday evening. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home by Rev. Monsignor George J. Valko. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, New Germany. "My precious, precious child, I love you and I will never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you. " "This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it."
