Gross, 63, of Nixon, Butler Co., Pa., died June 26, 1989, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born in Somerset on Feb. 17, 1926, a son of the late Harvey F. and Goldie V. (Marshall) Gross. He had been employed as a sales representative with Mead Corporation of Pittsburgh, was a member of the Nixon United Methodist Church since 1964 of which he was past president of the board and believed in our God, His son Jesus Christ and life eternal. He is a member and past president of the Penn Glade Lions Club and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force in World War II. Survived by wife, Mrs. Bernice (Miller) Gross, whom he married Sept. 1, 1948; daughter, Mrs. Rodney (Debra L.) Grist, Columbus, Ohio; 5 sisters: Mrs. Alice Brawley, Rockwell, N.C.; Mrs. Richard (Mary) West, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Martha Tipton, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. James (Jenny) Miller, Chattanooga, Tenn.; Mrs. Thomas (Anna) Shoemaker, Waynesboro, Va.; 2 brothers: Lester M. Gross, Rockwell, N.C.; Charles Gross, Somerset; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends are being received at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, Pa., Wed. 2-4 and 7-9. Services from the Nixon United Methodist Church, Airport Road, Butler, Thurs. at 11 a.m., in charge of the Rev. Henry B. Hall. Interment in Brownsdale Cemetery.
