  OSCAR D. GROSS
  
  Oscar D. Gross, 78, of Rockwood, passed on Jan. 5, 2004, at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born May 14, 1925, in Milford Township, he is the son of the late
  Norman and Vida (Kimmel) Gross.  He is preceded in death by his parents; wife
  Doris in 1993; sisters Thelma Gross and Maude Faidley; and brother Philip
  Gross.  He is survived by his daughter Lynet, married to Neal Adolphson of
  Rockwood; sisters Alverta Phillippi of Sharon and Audrey, married to Ed
  Sanner of Rockwood; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was a
  retired employee of the B&O Railroad.  He was a member of the Rockwood
  Rotary Club and the Rockwood Fire Dept. where he served as both firefighter
  and EMT.  He was a member of the Garrett United Methodist Church.  Friends may
  call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Miller
  Funeral Home, Rockwood, where a service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday.  Rev.
  Joseph Onder and Rev. William Sleasman officiating.  Interment at Union
  Cemetery, New Centerville.  Memorial contributions may be sent to Rockwood
  Fire Dept., West Main Street, Rockwood, Pa. 15557.
