Gross, 72, North Ridgeville, passed away September 4, 2003, at his home, after a short illness. He was born in Aliquippa. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ruth Gross and his brother, Charles Daniel Gross. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Felicia; two daughters, Dee Ann Scheider, Perrysburg, OH; Delite Gross, North Ridgeville; and two grandchildren. He resided in North Ridgeville for the last 50 years, wintering in Bellview, FL, since 1989. He had previously lived in Meyersdale. Mr. Gross received his certification from Egani Neo Sign Making School in New York City and was a graduate of General Motors Electrical Engineering Institute. Her [sic] served in the U.S. Army with the 79th Engineers Battalion- Construction-B Compound, during the Korean War. He received the Army of Occupation of Japan Medal, the Korean Service Medal, with four Bronze Service Stars, and the Purple Heart Medal. He was a charter and life member of the VFW Post 9871 in North Ridgeville. He was a member of the Eagles Post 4251 in Belleview, FL and was a former member of the Fields United Methodist Church in North Ridgeville. He retired from General Motors Parma Chevy Plant in 1987, after 34 years of service, where he was a maintenance supervisor. He also was a State Certified Electrical Inspector for the City of North Ridgeville in the early 1970's. Mr. Gross was an avid outdoorsman and loved "do it yourself" projects. The family received friends Sept. 7 in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home in North Ridgeville. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 8 at noon at the funeral home. Reverend C. Michael Gibson, Pastor of Fields United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the Fields Cemetery, North Ridgeville. The VFW Post 9871 conducted full military honors at the graveside.
