Grove, former resident of Boynton, died in the Cumberland Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, June 30, of chronic myocarditis after an illness of two months. He lived in Boynton until about 20 years ago, when he moved to Cresaptown and built a new home there. He was born in Elk Lick Township on January 24, 1884, a son of Ida (DeHaven) and Wesley Grove, and was aged 64 years, five months and six days at his passing. In addition to his wife, Mrs. Cora S. (Bowman) Grove, he is survived by seven daughters - Mrs. Maude Evans of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Lena McKinney of Cresaptown, Md.; Mrs. Dorothy Werner of Cumberland, and Mrs. Velma Haines, Mrs. Freda Weber, Mrs. Pauline White and Mrs. Vivian Pearson, all of Potomac Park, Md.; two sons - Homer and Lynn, both of Potomac Park; four sisters - Mrs. J. E. Phelps of Ronceverte, W.Va.; Mrs. Besse Keller of Potomac Park, Mrs. Frank Hochard of Salisbury, and Mrs. Robert Jones of Boynton; by four brothers - Irvin of Windber, Dewey of Acosta, and Clarence and Sylvan of Detroit, Mich., and by 17 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., on Saturday, July 3, in the First Brethren Church of Cumberland with the pastor, the Rev. Mr. Naff, officiating. Interment was made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Salisbury in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, July 8, 1948
