She was aged 69 years, 4 months and 4 days. She was born and reared in the Center Church community and lived there her entire life. She was a daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Ann Kretchman Cross, and is survived by her husband, two daughters and one son. The surviving children are Mrs. Lloyd Vought of Center Church, Mrs. Dennis Sanner of Somerset, and William Growall of Boswell, an employe of the State Highway Department. One sister, Miss Cornelius Burkholder, also survives. Mrs. Growall united with the Lutheran Church during her childhood and was a faithful member of the Center Church congregation until her death. She was a devoted wife and mother and a highly esteemed member of the community. Funeral services were conducted by her former pastor, Rev. S. F. Tholan, of Potts Grove, Northumberland County, Pa., at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, Aug. 31st. A brief service was held at the home, followed by the obsequies in the Center Church, and burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Tholan took for his text, Job 1:21; "Jehovah gave, and Jehovah hath taken away. Blessed be the name of Jehovah." Karl Leith sang several comforting hymns. The funeral was largely attended. The pallbearers were G. W. Dodson and Harry Neil of Garrett, and J. H. Bowman, Paul Critchfield, F. N. Shipley and Karl Leith of Meyersdale. Meyersdale Republican, September 3, 1931
