  JAMES GUARD
  
    James Frederick Guard, 79, of Granite, formerly of Friendsville, died
  Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1993 in the Stella Maris Hospice, Townson, Baltimore
  County.
    Born in Friendsville, he was the son of the late Laura (Fox) and Dorsey
  Guard.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Harry Guard of
  Friendsville.
    He is survived by two sisters, Mary LeFevre, Aberdeen; Jane Fox,
  Friendsville; Leslie Guard and John Guard, both of Friendsville; five
  nephews; four nieces and friend Gertrude Pennington, Woodstock.
    Friends were received at the Loring Byers Funeral Home, 8728 Liberty
  Road, Randallstown.  Services were conducted Saturday in the funeral home
  chapel by Dr. Sherman Roddy.  Interment will be at the Granite Presbyterian
  Church Cemetery.
