  GURZENDA
  
    Alice Elizabeth Gurzenda, 85, Somerset died Jan. 30, 2000, at Somerset
  Hospital.  Born June 30, 1914, in New York City, N.Y.  Daughter of William
  J. and Bridgett (Cleary) Hurley.  Preceded in death by parents and two
  sisters Dorothy Butler and Aileen Petersen.  Survived by children: Mrs.
  Frank (Eileen) Derro of Cheverly, Md.; Mrs. Samuel (Marian) Johnson of
  Tyaskin, Md.; Mrs. Richard (Suzanne) Black of Chevy Chase, Md.; and William
  V. Gurzenda married to the former Bonne Brooks of Somerset.  Five
  grandchildren: Anthony F. Derro and wife Jane of Cheverly, Md.; Eric J.
  Derro and wife Theresa of Cheverly, Md.; Rebecca J. Derro of Laurel Md.,
  and Susan and Frances Gurzenda of Somerset.  Also two great-grandchildren,
  Gavin and Emma Derro.  She was a graduate of the Eastman Grimes Business
  School in New York City, N.Y.  Member of St. Peter's Catholic Church,
  Somerset.  Was a board director and corporate secretary for the Rockwood
  Manufacturing Co. 1946-2000.  No viewing or visitation.  Funeral mass will
  be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Somerset,
  with Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli, Celebrant.  Committal, Somerset County
  Memorial Park.  Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Somerset
  County, P.O. Box 182, Somerset, Pa. 15501 or St. Peter's Catholic School,
  433 West Church St., Somerset, Pa. 15501.  Arrangements by Hauger-Zeigler
  Funeral Home, Somerset.
