  HABEL 
  
  John A. Habel, 78, of Garrett, passed away at his residence on Monday, Feb.
  15, 1993.  He is survived by two sons, John A. Habel Jr. of Belle Vernon and
  James of G. Habel of Pittsburgh.  Also two grandchildren, Kathleen and John
  Habel III.  He had served as a former postmaster of Garrett, as assistant
  supervisor of highways and had retired as a rural mail carrier.  He also
  served on numerous boards and committees in the Garrett area for many
  years.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at
  the Rhome Funeral Home, Inc. in Monessen, where services will be held in
  the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday.  Interment, Highland Cemetery,
  Garrett.
