Born Nov. 27, 1910 in Garrett, daughter of the late William L. and Ida (Hoover) Brant, and was a resident there for many years. Graduate of Monessen High School and Agnes Scott College, Ga. Served as postmaster of Garrett and was also a secretary for Somerset Limestone Co. A former member of the Meyersdale Area School Board. Was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. Member of Grace United Church of Christ, Garrett; where she had served with the choir and Ladies Aid; 50 year member and past matron of Trinity Chapter, O.E.S. No. 138, also was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, DAR, American Lung Association and American Red Cross. Surviving are her husband, John A. Habel, Garrett; two sons John A. Habel Jr., Belle Vernon; James G. Hable of Whitehall, Pa.; and two grandchildren. Friends received at Rhome Funeral Home Inc., 1209 Grand Blvd. Monessen, Pa., on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, Garrett.
