Born Oct. 8, 1931, in Wendell, W.Va., he is the son of the late Homer and Marion (Hamilton) Haddix. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Josephine Frensik. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Orilla (Hanna) Haddix; son, Kenneth, married to Candace Haddix, Conneaut Lake; daughter, Patricia, married to Kenneth Phillips, West Mifflin; grandson, Taylor Haddix and granddaughters, Nicole and Jennifer Phillips. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was a member and past commander of Post 701 of the American Legion in White Oak. He is a past president of the West Mifflin Republican Party, past vice president of the No. 3 Fire Company in West Mifflin and a past officer in the Moose Lodge No. 31 in McKeesport. He was retired from the Continental Can Co. in West Mifflin and the Allegheny Co. Port Authority where he was a bus driver. Friends may call from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Barry Ritenour officiating.
