Born April 24, 1933, in Somerset County, a son of Albert and Clova P. (Bockes) Halbrock. Preceded in death by parents; and grandparents, John and Martha Bockes, who raised him. Survived by wife, the former Virginia Weller; broth-er, Charles Halbrock and wife, Phyllis, Hubbard, Ohio; half sister, Linda Johnson and husband, Paul, Somerset. Also survived by several stepsisters and numerous nieces and nephews. John was a self-employed trucking owner/operator for 35 years. During that time, he hauled for Svonavec Inc., PBS, New Enterprise and Olde Earth Products. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, chopping wood, gardening and the time spent on his John Deere Gator. He was a member of Somerset Church of the Nazarene, Somerset Truckers Association and the Somerset Parkinson's Support Group. Friends received from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. John Buchko offici-ating. Interment St. Johns Cemetery.
