  ROBERT M. HAMER
  
    Robert M. Hamer Sr., 65, Berlin RD 4, died Oct. 26, 1982, in Somerset
  Community Hospital.
    He was born July 8, 1917, in Liberty Borough, a son of Howard and Clara
  (Davis) Hamer.
    He was preceded in death by parents, brother, Edward W. Hamer, and
  half-brother, Clayton D. McDonald.
    He is survived by his stepfather, William McDonald, Berlin RD 4; his wife
  Helen (Fisher) Hamer; and these children, Robert M. Jr., Greenville, S.C.;
  Carol, wife of the Rev. John Hayes, Clymer; and Richard W., at home; one
  brother, George Hamer, Huntingdon; and the following half-brothers and
  half-sisters:  Malcom McDonald, Jennerstown; Donald McDonald, Sarasota,
  Fla.; Cathy Grove, Beaver Falls; William R. McDonald, North Huntingdon; and
  Anna Cappalonga, Philadelphia; and eight grandchildren.  He was a member of
  Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle, a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Navy;
  Disabled American Veterans; and a retired farmer.
    Friends were received at the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where
  services were conducted with the Rev. Chauncey J. Ickes.  Interment,
  Somerset County Memorial Park.
