Haney, 75, West Main St., Somerset, died June 23, 1986, at his residence. Born Feb. 25, 1911, in Fairfield Township (Westmoreland County), son of the late George and Elizabeth (Shawley) Haney. Also preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice E. (Custer) Haney; five sisters: Anna Bell, Josephine Emmert, Mary Asbec, Blanche Shaw and Katherine Benford; and four brothers: Charles, Jacob, Harvey and Thomas. Survived by his wife, the former Daisy Ross-Miller Haney, Somerset; stepchildren: Ronald L. Miller, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. John (Judith) Chronowski, Friedens RD 1; Mrs. Dale P. (Sandra) Miller, Somerset; Mrs. Richard (Penny) Sheetz, Houston, Texas; Blair E. Ross, Somerset RD 7; and John L. Miller Jr., Somerset; 11 step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren. Brother of Mrs. Richard (Caroline) Lathrop, Twenty-nine Palms, Calif. He was the owner and operator of Barney's Body Shop. Member of First United Methodist Church and Somerset American Legion Post 181. Friends received 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Service will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Percy Ellenberger officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
