She was the daughter of John and Savilla (Diehl) George, and was born at Cove June 18, 1879. Besides her husband she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Virginia Fike, Markleysburg, Pa., Mrs. Savilla Fike and Mrs. Anna McCormick both of Akron, O., and Mrs. Woodrow Friend, Cove; by three sons, Walter Hanft of Cove, Elmer and Carl Hanft at home, and by nine grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Henry Bach, Accident, and Mrs. Margaret Glover, Akron, and four brothers, Edward George of Penmersburg, Pa., Mahlon George, Fort Dodge, Ia., Melchor and Henry George of Keyser Ridge. Mrs. Hanft was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in which she was confirmed as a child. Funeral services were held in St. John's Church Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. William Carlson, pastor, officiating. Interment was made in the church cemetery. The pall bearers were Albert Griffith, Arthur Butler, Joseph Collier, Mahlon Brown, George Bach and Owen Bach.
