Haning, 89, of Springs, died Aug. 17, 1998, at Meyersdale Manor Nursing Home. Minnie Marie Bender was born July 14, 1909, in Springs, a daughter of the late John Herman and Lydia L. (Miller) Bender. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray V. Haning, April 7, 1991. Survived by 3 sons: Ray V. Haning, Jr., Charleston, W.Va.; John B. Haning, Thompsonville, Mich., and William E. Haning, Springs; 2 daughters: Ann Elizabeth Donati, Crescent City, Calif., and Margaret M. Mecredy, Rochester, N.Y., and 5 grandchildren. A Goshen (Ind.) College graduate, she taught school in West Salisbury, prior to her marriage in 1938. Following retirement in 1973, she and her husband returned home to Springs. Member of Lakewood Presbyterian Church, Lakewood, Ohio, Springs Historical Society and Springs Festival. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, Md. on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Springs Mennonite Church, with the Rev.
