Hankey, 85, of North Huntingdon, Pa., died July 28, 1985, at Allegheny General Hospital. Born Aug. 9, 1899, in Wilmerding, son of the late William L. and Mary Margaret (Clugston) Hankey. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife, the former Pearle Pyle; a brother, Attorney Donald L., and sister, Mrs. A. Emerson (Dorothy) Boyd, both of New Kensington. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset; Tyrian Lodge No. 644, F&AM, New Kensington; Pittsburgh Consistory; Syria Temple; SAR; and American Legion. He was a graduate of W&J College and a veteran of World War I and World War II. Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Richard E. Hauger Funeral Home where service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Greg Anderson officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Daily American, July 30, 1985 [H0176]
