Hankinson, 80, Juniata Street, New Baltimore, died Sept. 24, 2004, at home. Born Aug. 27, 1924, in New Baltimore, son of the late Urban and Irene C. (Fochtman) Hankinson. Also preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn, brother Eugene, and sister-in-law Louise Connor. Survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Restley) Hankinson, whom he married Aug. 11, 1949; children, Patty Ann Gardner, New Baltimore; Charles "Chuck," husband of Melanie (Schatz) Hankinson, New Baltimore, Edward, husband of Melissa (Dively) Hankinson, Berlin; son-in-law, Tim Gardner, Bedford; brother, Leo, husband of Eileen (Hillegas) Hankinson, Levittown; sisters, Josephine widow of Cyril Suhrie, Berlin, Margaret Lynch, Berlin; brother-in-law, James Restly, New Baltimore; sister-in-law, Betty, wife of James Davis, Ohio; brothers-in-law, Robert, husband of Marcia Restly, Bedford; Philip, husband of Judy Restly, Fairhope, Donald, husband of Carol Restly, Ohio; sister-in-law, Alzine, wife of Richard Hoffman, New Baltimore; brother-in-law, Frank, husband of Carol Restly, New Baltimore; sister-in-law, Irma, wife of Larry Plush, New Baltimore, brothers-in-law, Mark husband of Shirley Restly, Texas; Kenneth Restly; sister-in-law, Annabel, wife of Richard Hardin, Md. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Gardner), wife of Chris Nouse, Melanie (Gardner), wife of Jerry Kalligonis and Kathryn Gardner, Kelly, Travis, Mitchell and Kristen Hankinson, and three great-grandchildren, Cassidy Nouse, Alexandra, and Anthony Kalligonis. Sister-in-law Annalee Costello, wife of Roy, New Baltimore. He was a self-employed electrician and plumber and the owner of Hankinson's Market, New Baltimore for 35 years. Member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore. He served in World War II as a technician 5th grade in the U.S. Army. Member of the American legion Post 445, Berlin, life member of Disabled American Veterans and a charter member of the New Baltimore Sportsmen's Club. Friends are invited to call Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home, Schellesburg, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. The Rev. Allen Zeth celebrant, officiating. Committal service at St. John's Cemetery, New Baltimore. Memorial contributions may be made to Lee Regional Hospice, 117 Work Drive, Johnstown, Pa. 15904.
