Hanlin, 69, of Avilton, Md., died Jan 5, 1972, in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, where he had been a patient for several weeks. Born in Mt. Storm, he was a son of the late Robert and Lisa Hanlin. His wife, Sarah (Garlitz) Turner Hanlin, preceded him in death. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Surviving are five stepsons, James Turner, Grantsville; Joshua and Charles Turner, Avilton; Robert Turner, Midland; and Frank Turner, Baltimore; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Susan Wyatt and Mrs. Kathleen Matt, both of Baltimore; Mrs. Mary M. Russell, Winchester, Va.; and Mrs. Anna Lloyd, Frostburg; three brothers, Bursy and Thomas Hanlin, both of Westernport, Md.; and Harry Hanlin, West Virginia; and a sister, Mrs. Virgie Cosner, Westernport. Mass was celebrated Saturday morning in St. Ann's Church, Avilton, by Rev. Conrad Raffel. Interment was in charge of Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. Meyersdale Republican, January 13, 1972 [H0191]
