Hardesty, 64, of RD 3, Deer Park, Md.; died Friday, Feb 21, 1986, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland, Md. Born Jan. 2, 1922, in Steyer, Md.; he was the son of the late Alexander B. Hardesty and Artie O. (Lish) Hardesty. A retired coal miner, he was a member of Kurtz Chapel United Methodist Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Betty J. (Paugh) Hardesty; five daughters, Mrs. Betty L. Riley and Mrs. Kela M. Ravenscroft, both of Oakland, Md.; Mrs. Brenda M. Nazelrod and Miss Tammy J. Hardesty, both of Mountain Lake Park, Md.; Mrs. Kathy F. Roy, El Centro, Calif.; eight sons, Stanley M. Hardesty, Bushrod K. Hardesty, David L. Hardesty, James E. Hardesty, Gary D. Hardesty, Bret Hardesty, Steve A. Hardesty and Rocky L. Hardesty, all of Deer Park; two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Turnbull, Frostburg, Md.; Mrs. Doris Kendall, Meyersdale; two brothers, L. Donald Hardesty, of Deer Park; Carl Hardesty, Falls Church, Va.; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland. Services were conducted at Kurtz Chapel United Methodist Church Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Gail Hixon. Interment, Moon Cemetery. The Republic, February 27, 1986 [H0230]
