Born Feb. 25, 1919 in Meyersdale a son of Fred P. and Ellen Alice (Machin) Hare Sr. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Virginia Mae Miller who died Sept. 25, 2002; brothers: Fred P. Hare Jr., Clyde E. Hare and Karl I. Hare; sisters, Kathryn Hare and Betty Humberson. Survived by daughters, Mrs. Tim E. (Judith K.) Bell of Somerset and Mrs. F. Don (Ruth Ellen "Jonny") Snyder of Acme; grandchildren: Mrs. Thomas (Linda) Rhodamer, Mrs. Mark (Lori) Davidson, Thomas E. Bell and wife Angela all of Somerset, Shawn Snyder and wife Kelly, Mrs. Joe (Krista) Mears, Eric F. Snyder, Adam J. Snyder all of Acme; great-grandchildren: Cody and Kasey Rhodamer, Kaitlyn and Heather Davison, Tate and Grace Bell, Morgan, Myah and McKenzie Bell, Alexandra and Matthew Snyder, Donnie and Garrett Mears. Brother of Mrs. James (Mary Alice) Reeseman of Cape Coral, Fla. Member of Grace United Methodist Church. A 1937 graduate of Somerset High School. World War II veteran of U.S. Army 69th Infantry Division. Retired store keeper and parts manager for Penelec. Member of VFW Post 554; American Legion Post 181 and retired Penelec Cottontops. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, Somerset with Rev. Charles F. Olson officiating. Viewing at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment Husband Cemetery. Graveside Military Rites by the Somerset County Honor Guard.
