Born Dec. 1, 1938, in Somerset, son of the late Smith Harkcom. Preceded in death by sister, Thelma Fisher. Survived by his mother, the former Verda Mae Adams, and the following children: Dale, Garrett RD 1, Mrs. John (Kaphy) Custer, Somerset, and Mrs. Robert (Noreen) Fritz, Erie; also two granddaughters, Stephanie Renne, and Christy Lee Fritz. Brother of Wayne of Somerset, James of Ohio, Mrs. J. Sarah Bent of Davidsville, Mrs. Richard (Evelyn) Platt of Berlin and Mrs. Jean Kline of Somerset. Inclusive member of Berlin Alliance Church. Employed by CSX railroad as a brakeman. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. (today) Friday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, where funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Sherman Berkey officiating. Interment, Weller Cemetery.
