  VERDA MAE HARKCOM
  
  Verda Mae Harkcom, 95, of Berlin, formerly of Somerset, died Jan. 20, 2002
  at Meadow View Nursing Center.  Born May 31, 1906 in Husband, daughter of
  Ross and Emma (Stern) Adams.  Preceded in death by parents; husband Smith
  Harkcom; children, Thelma Fischer, Jean Kline, Sara Bent and Fred "Pepsi"
  Harkcom; and six sisters.  Survived by these children: Evelyn, married to
  Richard Platt of Berlin, Wayne S., married to the former Shelva Wah of
  Somerset, and James A. married to the former Arlene Bishop of Cleveland,
  Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six
  great-great-grandchildren.  Member of the former Husband United Methodist
  Church.  She enjoyed crocheting and quilting.  Family will receive friends
  from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where
  service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday.  Rev. Sherman Berkey
  officiating.  Interment, Weller Cemetery.
