Tiffin, Ohio, died Sept. 18, 1980 in Mercy Hospital, Tiffin, Ohio. He was born in Robinson, Pa. March 26, 1905, to Ira A. Harkins and Edna (Fisher) Harkins, both deceased. He was married Aug. 21, 1928 in Pitcairn, Pa. to Mildred M. Scott, who survives along with children; Miss Dolores J. Harkins, Toledo, Ohio; Mrs. James (Janet) Ferner of Tiffin, Ohio; Mrs. Robert (Lois) Paden of Danville, Pa.; David P. Harkins, of St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren, one deceased, and two great grandchildren. He is survived by these brothers and sisters; Harry E. Harkins, John P. Harkins, James J. Harkins, Joseph P. Harkins; sisters Mrs. Harold (Jennie) Alcorn, Mrs. Carl (Mildred) Booher, and Mrs. Donald (Helen) Whitehead. He was pastor emeritus of St. John's Church, Tiffin, Ohio. He received his B.A. from University of Pittsburgh in 1932, Bth [sic] from Western Theological Seminary, now the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 1936. Memorials may be made to the Fairhaven Home in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, and the Intensive Care Unit at Mercy Hospital in Tiffin, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity United Church of Christ. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Tiffin, following the service.
