Harold Jr., 66, of Hyndman RD 1, and formerly of LaVale, Md., died June 14, 1988, at his residence. Born Jan. 15, 1922, at Cumberland, Md., he was a son of the late Dayton G. and Eva P. (Clark) Harold Sr. He was a retired superintendent with 13 years service at Hercules-Allegany Ballistic Laboratories near Pinto, Md. He had served with the U.S. Army combat engineers during World War II. He was a member and Sunday school teacher at the Hyndman United Methodist Church; past president of the Hyndman-Londonderry Lions Club; past governor of District 14-L Lions International; and Pennsylvania state chairman to the Lions International convention committee and liaison. He was secretary for 18 years of the Hyndman-Londonderry School Board; past president of the Hyndman PTA. Surviving are his widow, Betty L. (Taylor) Harold; two sons: Gary G. Harold, Chambersburg; and John S. Harold, Hyndman; one daughter, Mrs. Linda S. Shroyer, Hyndman; and nine grandchildren. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Ziegler Funeral Home, Hyndman. Hyndman Lodge 589, AF&FM held masonic services at the funeral home Thursday at 1 p.m. Services were conducted there Friday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Thomas Zimmerman. Interment will be in the Hyndman Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the Hyndman United Methodist Church. The Republic, June 23, 1988 [H0326]
