   Ellen H. Harpel, 93, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away April 1, 2008, in Mount Nittany
  Medical Center, State College. She was the wife of the late Earle W. Harpel, who died in
  1987. Born in Penn Junction, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Edith (Kresge)
  Huseman. Survived by daughters, Nancy J. Reinert, State College; and Ruth A. ÒRustyÓ
  Watters and her husband, Jack, Sykesville, Md.; sisters, Ruth Grimm, Oskaloosa, Iowa; and
  Lillian Manfred, Mission, Texas; sister-in-law, Nina Harpel, Bethlehem; five
  grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren. She was a graduate of Liberty High School and
  Bethlehem Business College. She was the former secretary for Holy Trinity Lutheran
  Church, member of the church and life member of Lutheran Church Women. Ellen worked in
  the mayor's office for the city of Bethlehem during the Payrow administration. Friends
  may call from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Long Funeral Home,
