HARRIS Frederick John Harris died at his home at about 9:00 p.m. on Monday, October 27, of cerebral hemorrhage. He was stricken about noon on Friday of last week, and remained in an unconscious state until he passed away on Monday evening. He had been retired for the past 20 years but was a mine clerk in his working days. Mr. Harris was born in Minersville, Pa., on February 14, 1872, son of Sara (Jones) and David E. Harris and was 75 years, 8 months and 13 days at his passing. His wife, Mae (Lambert) Harris, preceded him in death in April, 1933, and one son, Harry, was lost from his ship in the Pacific in World War II. Mr. Harris was a member of Meyersdale Lodge No. 554 of the Masons, of Salisbury Lodge, Independent of Order of Odd Fellows and of Quemahoning Tribe, Improved Order of Red Men. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Marian Walker of Jerome; by four sons, David E., Fay V. and Percy I. Harris, all of Salisbury Route 1, and Dewey G. Harris, Jerome; by one brother, Edwin Harris, Snowhill, Md.; and by 24 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted in the Thomas Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, Rev. Floyd Gotjen, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Interment in the I.O.O.F.
