  MELDA B. HARRIS
  
    Melda B. Harris, 74, of 2929 University Boulevard, Kensington, Md., died
  Friday, Jan. 26, 1990, at her residence.
    Born in Bittinger, Md., on Jan. 8, 1916, she was the daughter of the late
  Henry J. and Cynthia (Snyder) Beitzel.
    Mrs. Harris was a graduate of Sibley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing
  in Washington, D.C.  Employed as a registered nurse for 30 years at D.C.
  General Hospital and Glendale Hospital.  Mrs. Harris was a member of the
  First Baptist Church in Edgewater; the National Association of Registered
  Nurses; and the American Association of Retired Persons. 
    Survivors include two daughters, Florence Abel, Kensington, Md., with
  whom she resided; and Joan Griffith, Edgewater, Md.; three brothers, Curtis
  Beitzel, New Smyrna, Fla.; Ellis Beitzel, Salisbury; William C. Beitzel,
  Grantsville, Md.; four sisters, Violet Higgins, Frostburg, Md.; Trellis
  Rassier, Kingston, N.Y.; Alice Bittinger, Akron, Ohio; Holly Fazenbaker,
  Westernport, Md.; four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
    Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville, where
  services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Larry Glotfelty.
    Interment in the Bittinger Cemetery.
