Harris, 65, of Orlando, Fla., and formerly of Nemacolin, Pa., and Somerset, Pa., died unexpectedly at 6:40 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, 1996, at Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pa. He was born July 7, 1931, in Nemacolin, Pa., a son of Viola J. Luzier Harris of Nemacolin and the late George J. Harris. Mr. Harris was a 1950 graduate of Cumberland Township High School in Carmichaels, Pa., and had worked at the Nemacolin Mine. He later worked at the G.M.&W. Coal Company in Jennerstown, where he was a member of the UMWA Local 1742 of District 2. In 1986, he moved to Florida and was an owner-operator for C&W Trucking Company. Mr. Harris served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Mokanna Lodge No. 329, F.&A.M. of Orlando, Fla., the Berlin Brethren Church of Berlin, Pa., the American Truckers Association and the Edgemore, Md., Water Rescue Squad. His wife, Elizabeth A. (Libby) Latham Addair Harris, whom he married on May 18, 1980, survives. Also surviving are four sons, Barry S. Harris, Arron D. Addair and Vincent E. Addair, all of Baltimore, Md., and Stanley A. Addair of Somerset; two daughters, Mrs. Claude (Marleen) Morris of Baltimore and Mrs. Ricky (LaDonna) Decker of Garrett; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Richard G. Harris of Nemacolin; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne (Julia) Reynolds of RD 1, Rices Landing, Pa., and Mrs. Ronald (Margaret J.) Anderson of RD 1 Dilliner, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Louise Caraffa, and a brother, Ronald Harris, who died in infancy. Friends will be received at the Yoskovich Funeral Home, 300 South Vine St. (Rt. 88) in Carmichaels, Pa., on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and from 1 to 2 p.m., the hour of service, in the funeral home on Sunday, Aug. 11. The Rev. Roger C. Saunders will officiate. Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and VFW Post 3891 will conduct military services at the funeral home after the funeral service. Valley Lodge No. 459, F&AM will conduct Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home. Somerset Daily American, August 10, 1996 [H0357]
