All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ MONT EDWARD HARRIS Mont Edward Harris, aged 52, died Sunday morning, May 5, at the family home, 303 Meyers Ave. Mr. Harris was born in Elk Garden, W.Va., July 8, 1893, and was a son of Othey Dillon and Bessie Lavalle Harris. For a number of years he served as a wire chief for the Baltimore and Ohio railroad. Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Surviving are his father, Elk Garden; his widow, the former Clara Warnick, and two daughters, Mrs. Loretta Weatherholtz and Mrs. Lois Lowery, both of Meyersdale. He also leaves a stepdaughter, Mrs. Georgia Hardman, Falls Church, Va.; four grandchildren, and ten brothers and sisters - Mrs. Blanche Garver, Davis, W.Va.; Mrs. Ruth Doling, Elk Garden, W.Va.; Mrs. Hazel Dean, Washington, D.C.; Willard, O.P., Isaac and Burke Harris, all of Arlington, Va.; O. G. Harris, Parkersburg, W.Va.; Otis D. Harris, Morgantown, W.Va.; and Carl Harris, Washington, D.C. Funeral services were held at the Harris home at 10 a.m. Tuesday, by his pastor, Rev. Sherwood C. Keiser. The body was removed to Elk Garden, W.Va., for additional services in Elk Garden Methodist Church, at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, in charge of Rev. Prince, pastor. Interment was made in the church cemetery, under the direction of H.R. Konhaus. The pallbearers were members of the Brotherhood of Railroad Telegraph Operators of which Mr. Harris was a member.
