J. Harrison, Jr., prominent Somerset insurance man, justice of the peace and real estate dealer, died in the Memorial Hospital in Johnstown, Tuesday morning at 3:15. Death was attributed to a cerebral vascular stroke. Mrs. Harrison's health had been impaired about a year ago, when she suffered a slight stroke attributed to hypertension. Mrs. Harrison became suddenly ill after having attended an entertainment in the Cochran Junior High School in Johnstown. She was accompanied to Johnstown by her daughter, Gladys, Miss Catherine Snyder and Mrs. Wadsworth Wagner. Mr. Harrison and his two sons were notified by telephone as Mrs. Harrison was rushed to the Memorial Hospital. She had lapsed into a coma from which she never rallied. Surviving are her husband, Charles J. Harrison, Jr., two sons, Charles J. Harrison, III, Frank Harrison, two daughters, Gladys and Virginia, two brothers, Dr. Frank Speck, teacher in Swarthmore College near Philadelphia, Reinhard Speck of Rockford, Mass., and one grandson, Frank Harrison, Jr. Funeral services were conducted this Thursday afternoon from the family home in Somerset by Rev. J. F. Messenger. Interment was made in the Husband Cemetery under the direction of Charles R. Hauger, mortician. Meyersdale Republican, October 31, 1940
