Hartman, 72, of Lincoln Street, Somerset, died July 15, 1996, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born March 5, 1924, in Glencoe. Son of the late John W. and Mary M. (DeLozier) Hartman. Survived by his wife of 50 years, the former Virginia M. Grenke; and two sons, David B. Hartman, Canfield, Ohio; and Dennis W. Hartman, Washington, Pa.; and one daughter, Donna L. Hartman, Brigantine, N.J. Also, grandson Wesley Scott Hartman and granddaughters Jamie Marie and Kristy Hartman. Retired Penelec line foreman. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. Past master of Somerset Lodge No. 358 F&AM, where he served as member, trustee and president of the Temple Board and Ritual Instructor. Member of Harrisburg Consistory and Jaffa Shrine of Altoona. WWII Veteran of Army Air Corps and member of Somerset American Legion, where he served as past commander and temple board member. Very active with the youth of the area and instrumental in forming the Little and the Senior Baseball leagues, where he served as manager and a coach. He was cub master of Troop 131 of Somerset. Member of the Last Man's Club of Berlin. Honorary member of the Somerset Fire Department. Avid golfer. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday (today) and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home, Somerset. Funeral service will be conducted at St. Paul's United Church of Christ at 11 a.m. Friday, with Rev. Glenn Sadler officiating. Masonic services 7:30 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
