All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ LIZZIE HARTZELL Miss Lizzie Hartzell, 95, of Confluence R.D. 1, died Friday night, December 19, in the Price Hospital, to which she was admitted Dec. 12, suffering from a broken hip which was caused by a fall. She was born in Somerset County, and daughter of the late Melchia and Anna Hartzell. She had lived on a farm all her life. A son, Nolan Kimmel, survives, along with a number of grandchildren, great and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. J. W. Burkholder of near Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Emma Miller of South Connellsville; two brothers, Norman Hartzell, living near Confluence, and Thomas Hartzell of Lamont. A nephew, Charles Gearhart, and his wife live on the Hartzell farm and had been taking care of her. Funeral services were held last Monday at 2 p.m. at the Jersey Church near Confluence, with burial in the church cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, January 1, 1948
