Born Dec. 17, 1940, in Lincoln Township, daughter of Philip Harner and Mary (Shaffer) Glessner. Preceded in death by parents and brother, Thomas Neil Glessner. Survived by her husband of 46 years, Edward R.; daughters, Jodie, married to David A. Hay, Berlin, and Jana, married to Shawn Lehman of Carlisle; and grandchildren, Rebecca Hay and Andrew and Sara Lehman. Sister of: Esther, married to David Shuey, Campbelltown, Philip Glessner and wife, Sue, Avilla, Ind., Ronald Glessner and wife, Patty, Harrington, Del., Byron Glessner and wife, Judy, and Carolyn, married to George Custer, all of Berlin, and Ralph Glessner and wife, Sue, Salix; also sister- in-law, Karen Glessner, Berlin. Graduate of Shanksville-Stonycreek High School. Lifetime member of Brothersvalley Church of the Brethren where she held many offices over the years, including moderator, chair-man of the board, Sunday school teacher and superintendent, choir member, deaconess and church custodian. She had served on the Shanksville-Stonycreek School Board for 10 years and she loved gardening and growing beautiful flowers. There will be no viewing or visitation. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27 at Brothersvalley Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Timothy Resh officiating. Interment, Pike Cemetery, Brotherton.
