NELLE S. HATHEWAY

  Word was received here by Miss Marian Saylor of the recent death of Mrs. Nelle 
Shuck Slagle Hatheway of North Girard, Pa.  She was a former resident of 
Meyersdale, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eli Shuck.  While living in 
Meyersdale, her home was on Broadway, the house now occupied by the Pfeiffer and 
Groff families.  Funeral services for her were held March 12.
  A daughter, Mrs. Margaret Mowery, died in Texas on February 28 and was buried 
in Erie on March 3, just a week before her mother's death.  Mrs. Hatheway was 
twice married, her first husband being the late John Slagle, a former resident 
of Meyersdale and Johnstown.
  She is survived by her second husband, Mark Hatheway of North Girard; a son, 
the Rev. Grant Slagle of Titusville; a daughter, Evelyn of Philadelphia; six 
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
