She was born in Baltimore, Md., July 4, 1856, and was aged 92 years, 10 months and 1 day. Early in life she was adopted by the late Emanuel and Rebecca Meyers and spent her entire life in Somerset County, starting her married life and housekeeping on the Peter Hauger farm east of Berlin. Fifty-five years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Hauger built a home on Broadway where she has since resided. Her husband, who was a jeweler, preceded her in death by 25 years. In recent years Mrs. Hauger became an invalid and was tenderly cared for by her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Llewellyn. Mrs. Hauger was a devoted wife and mother and a faithful member of the Berlin Reformed Church. She is survived by a daughter, Nellie Llewellyn, a sister, Mrs. Ida Meyers Williams of Philadelphia, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in the Johnson Funeral Home Wednesday, May 11, at 4:00 p.m. The Rev. Ira R. Harkins officiating. Interment in Berlin cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, May 12, 1949
