  JAY M. HAUGER
  
    Jay M. Hauger, 81, of Berlin RD 3, (Pleasant Valley Farm), died March 15,
  1983, at home.  He was born Dec. 17, 1901, at Pleasant Valley Farm in
  Brothersvalley Township, a son of Silas M. and Rebecca (Cover) Hauger.
    He was preceded in death by parents; his wife, the former Norma Ball, who
  died March 6, 1983; a son, three sisters and one brother.
    He is survived by a brother, Arlo, of Bradenton, Fla.; two nieces and
  four nephews.  He was a graduate of California State Teachers College and
  taught school in Brothersvalley Township for several years.  He was a
  life-long member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin, where he had
  served as an elder and vice president of the consistory and also a former
  superintendent and teacher of the Sunday School.  He served 21 years as a
  director of Dairymen's Co-op. Association and Milk Inc.  Member of National
  Dairy Council, Atlantic Dairy Association, and United Dairy Industries.  He
  was the first cow-tester for D.H.I.A. for Somerset County.  He was a member
  of the I.O.O.F. Lodge, Berlin.
    Friends were received at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where
  services were held with the Rev. Mark Michael and the Rev. Kenneth S.
  Swanson officiating.  Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
