Hauger, 81, of Berlin RD 3, (Pleasant Valley Farm), died March 15, 1983, at home. He was born Dec. 17, 1901, at Pleasant Valley Farm in Brothersvalley Township, a son of Silas M. and Rebecca (Cover) Hauger. He was preceded in death by parents; his wife, the former Norma Ball, who died March 6, 1983; a son, three sisters and one brother. He is survived by a brother, Arlo, of Bradenton, Fla.; two nieces and four nephews. He was a graduate of California State Teachers College and taught school in Brothersvalley Township for several years. He was a life-long member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin, where he had served as an elder and vice president of the consistory and also a former superintendent and teacher of the Sunday School. He served 21 years as a director of Dairymen's Co-op. Association and Milk Inc. Member of National Dairy Council, Atlantic Dairy Association, and United Dairy Industries. He was the first cow-tester for D.H.I.A. for Somerset County. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge, Berlin. Friends were received at the Johnson-Kuhlman Funeral Home, Berlin, where services were held with the Rev. Mark Michael and the Rev. Kenneth S. Swanson officiating. Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F.
