Hauger, 61, a veteran B. & O. Railroad telegrapher, died Sunday night, September 15, at his home in Rockwood. He was born in Somerset County, a son of Joseph and Mable (Putman) Hauger. His wife, Mrs. Eva (Bittner) Hauger, daughter of the late Simon W. Bittner of Meyersdale, survives and a son, Claude R. Hauger, at home, and brother, Morrell Hauger, Pittsburgh. Mr. Hauger was a member of the Reformed Church at Rockwood; past master of Meyersdale Lodge No. 544, F. and A. M.; Rockwood Lodge, No. 1140, I.O.O.F.; Rockwood Camp, Modern Woodmen of America, and the Order of Railroad Telegraphers, and was active in all community affairs at Rockwood. Funeral services today (Thursday) at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. H. L. Logdston, Perryopolis, officiating. Burial in the Rockwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, September 20, 1946
