He and William Hause, an elder brother, lived together in the same house since the death of their mother, some years ago. Each slept in a separate room, and William could give only an incoherent account of what took place after both had retired for the night. Samuel had been in poor health for some time, and the surviving brother thought he heard his afflicted brother walking in his own room about midnight or shortly thereafter. When daylight came, Samuel was found dead on the floor by the surviving brother, and a doctor's examination made it apparent that he died on the date mentioned, of asthma and other complications. He was a son of Samuel and Eliza (Stevanus) Hause. In addition to the surviving brother he is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Susan Bisbing of Meyersdale. The deceased was a veteran of World War I, and for a while was a member of the Earl H. Opel Post of the American Legion. Funeral services were held at the funeral parlor of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas, in Salisbury at 10:30 today (Thursday). The officiating clergyman was Rev. S. D. Sigler. Interment was in the St. Paul Cemetery, under the direction of mortician Thomas. The pallbearers were members of the local American Legion Post. Meyersdale Republican, December 23, 1943
