All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ ANNA WIRSING HAVNER Mrs. Anna Wirsing Havner died at her home in Charlestown, Henry Clay Township, Fayette County, at 10:00 p.m., Tuesday evening, July 12th, after a long illness, the last month of which she was confined to her bed, suffering from anemia. She was born at Addison, March 27, 1864, a daughter of the late Samuel and Samantha Wirsing, and was aged 68 years, 3 months and 15 days. She was married in 1883 to Sullivan J. Havner, and began housekeeping in Confluence. After eight years in Confluence, they moved to Charlestown, on a farm, where they have since resided. Mrs. Havner, when quite young, joined the Methodist Episcopal Church at Addison, and has retained her membership there. She was a sincere Christian, and a kind and loving mother. She was a friend of all who knew her, and her neighbors have nothing but the highest praise for her sterling qualities. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Myrtle Crawford, Mt. Pleasant, Mich.; Mrs. Frank (Mamie) McElhaney, Connellsville; Mrs. Morris (Pearl) Coddington, Selbysport, Md.; Roy Havner, Oakland, Md.; Mrs. Russell (Nellie) Sinclair, Linwood; Willis Havner, Toledo, Ohio; and Harry, at home. Surviving also are 28 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. There also survives four half-sisters, Mrs. Laura Shultz, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Leah Wisserman, Miss Maude Hileman and Miss Emma Hileman, Somerset. Two daughters preceded her to the grave. Funeral services were held at the family home at 2:00 p.m., Friday, Rev. W. L. Morgan, pastor of the Confluence M.E. Church, officiating. Interment in Addison Cemetery. The pallbearers were the three sons, Roy, Willis and Harry Havner, and three grandsons, Theodore and Arnold Crawford, and Harold Coddington. Charles B. Humbert was the funeral director in charge.
