Havner, 84, of Meyersdale, died Friday, June 8, 1990, in Meyersdale Community Hospital. He was born March 8, 1906, in Confluence, the son of the late Frank and Ida (Crowe) Havner. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret (Jackson) Havner. He was a retired railroader, was a member of the United Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, Melda (Durst) Cochran Havner; four sons: Ronald Havner, Sherrill, N.Y.; Robert Havner and Samuel Havner, both of Nanvet, N.Y.; and Charles Havner, Rock Tavern, N.Y.; three daughters: Lois Stimmell, Pensacola, Fla.; Mary Belle Whoolery, Smithfield; and Ellen Panarella, Cleveland, Ohio; one brother, William Havner, Pittsburgh; one sister, Margaret Beal, Connellsville; 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services were conducted Monday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Ray Gnagey.
